Hi there,
along with the famous missing of our time, Shergar, myself and that guy from Manic Street Preachers, I'm compiling a list of Hadleigh players missing in action.

1. Brian Doyle - last seen sometime last year, after a sabbatical in the fatherland is alleged to have embraced his new found Bruno lifestyle and sightings have been reported in the vicinity of the George.

2. John Bel, (known alias Senior Ding Dong) he recently acquired a property in the well-heeled leafy suburb of Laurel Lodge. Rumour has it that the house was built on an ancient Indian burial ground and that Senior hasn't been seen since he went down to his basement for a look.

3. Coaker, known for his love of all things herbal, this midfield dynamo has been in and out of action for 2 years due to technical difficulties

4. Sam, a draft from yesteryear, put in a few decent performances then vanished, blaming a draconian training regime.

5. Brian Del, not seen since slotting in at centre half and exposing his achillies heel at balls over the top.

6. Dodsy, hasn't played since losing his marbles and receiving his marching orders. Will go down in history as one of only 2 players to ever be sent off in a Hadleigh shirt.

7. Dave O'Brien, left shortly after the sideline departure of Catcho. Enjoys golf.

8. Cheesy, this stalwart right full will be remembered for solid displays and a mazy solo goal in HPFC's curtain raiser against Mill back in 2003.

9. The judge - got married, nuff said. Rumours of a comeback in Jan 2008.

10. Ally Sweats, more comebacks than Rocky, ally starts every season with vigour up in Porterstown for about 3 sessions then falls into a typical pattern of laissez faire. Consitently blames Ireland's cold climate for his lack of committment.

11. Reporter, a regular contributor to this site, the Reporter has kept nets on a number of occasions for HPFC. Not a fan of the backpass but a decent shot stopper.

12. Fat Pat, Paudgie also step in nets on a few occasions and will go down in HP folklore for his GAA style handpass to his left full.

13. Goalie with Big Kick out, played the once and did quite well.

14. Wardy, sought greener pastures on the streets of London City where he is a player on the markets. Makes guest appearances on his visits home and is a shareholder in the club. Talks of him talking the club public early next year and to be pushing a floatation on the FTSE next April.

Dermo played in the brookfield away debacle. Starred at centre half in a 4-2-0 formation.

Those were the days my friend.

Fosso.

Another iconic figure who donned the Hadleigh gloves on more than one occasion. Once turned a 4-1 lead into a 4-4 draw against Malahide away when he shouted 'leave it' to Sparky - another MIA - and then followed his own advice much to the glee of the Malahide striker.

Famously though he will be remembered for his last minute winner against Blancardstown in the Cup. Moans could be heard from the defence when he emerged off the bench only for the bean-pole striker to silence his doubters and get mobbed by the ecstatic Hadleigh faithful.

Great days.

Johnny Butler's mate with the red hair Brian.

Rumour mill had this former Verona and Athlone dynamo making the move to Hadleigh on more than one occasion.

However, he failed to surgically remove the splinters from his arse after his time at Verona and instead can be found on a golf course near you. Was recently sighted on Hector's programme in France at the World Cup wearing a silly hat.

How could we forget Larry 'hotpants' Healy.

Can be seen regularly in Myos throwing €50 notes randomly at people to promote a high-flying image.

Hotpants gave some of his best years to the club but when struggled to let go when removed from the hotseat.

Was regularly seen at training, his Shankleyesque shadow hanging over vibrant new manager Steve Lifts.

Rumours of a Christmas coup last year failed to materialise. Will his diabolical scheme come to fruition this year? Only time will tell.

Soccy was stand in manager for one game. Had to be dragged from a pub in fairview at 6.30 on a wednesday to done the bainisteoir shirt.

Famously told the ref he was too old. 2-0 victory. We pine for days like that.
