The manual for this machine is not going to tell you very much, and you are left to work out a few things for yourself, hence my dropping a star grade. However, the machine itself is very good. It charges to full capacity in 5 hours, and then the battery lasts for several hours in use, and many hours if plugged in (just like my lap top). The build quality is good, and the screen crystal clear. It performs well in text, picture and video, and it connected without fuss to my router and e-mail services, and to the net. OK it is not an I-pad, but then neither is my car a Rolls Royce, and neither did I pay I-pad money. If like me you are not cash rich but have a use for a tablet, then this is a good product well worth its price.

On mine,no GPS function; having been given the location of my Wi-Fi hub, it knows where it is. Otherwise, it has no GPS functionality. Also, it will not communicate with a PC, and it is inconsistent in telling me whether or not the on board memry is full. Instructions in pidgin English and virtually useless.

Took almost a week, admittedly over the New Year holiday, for the seller to respond, enabling me to return the goods. ne ,ore e-mail to prompt a refund. So, fair behaviour from the seller, useless product, and a lesson learned not to buy unbranded, perhaps.

I have been looking for a 10" tablet for a while and I did loads of research before settling for the Wayteq Xtab 100. I didn't want to spend more than £250 and didn't want a Chinese `white box' generic pad such as the Flytouch/Superpad variety. I was a bit hesitant buying this one as there were no Amazon reviews but I needn't have worried.

So, to the review. Straight away this tab looks and feels solid, almost like an iPad clone in the way it is designed and it's reasonably light too. The capacitive screen is a dream, very smooth, fast and responsive and at 1024 x 768 the picture is very sharp. The pad runs Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) and comes pre-installed with some basic apps, mainly Google based such as Gmail, Google Search, Maps, Talk, Calendar, full Android Market etc. I immediately downloaded Youtube and BBC iPlayer apps and both work superbly well with no lag and a very clear picture.

Connectivity is good with WiFi, USB, Bluetooth, HDMI and 3G with the use of a dongle (see the manufacturers website for compatible dongles). There's a microSD card slot (up to 32GB) to enhance the built-in 4GB storage and system memory is 526mb which is plenty for a device of this type. There's a 1.3 megapixel camera which is fine for Skype but you won't get any stunning photos from it.

Sound-wise the two built-in speakers give a surprisingly good sound and there's the standard 3.5mm earphone jack. External speakers can be attached.

Be aware that the plug that comes with the device is a 2 pin European type so you will need to buy an adapter (a couple of quid). There is a slight issue with some apps in the Market not being able to be downloaded (Facebook and Angry Birds that I've noticed so far) but I think that's the operating system and not the pad. Facebook can be viewed fine through the web browser though. I'm sure there'll be a ROM out there somewhere that'll sort this minor issue out.

All in all a very good tablet and I would certainly recommend it. Shame there is no 3 pin UK adapter in the box but the item description states it is 2 pin. Once I'm able to play around with the software and get all Market apps to download this will be a perfect tab.

Update: Any apps that you cannot download direct from the Market can be downloaded on a PC by searching for the apk file, saved to a microSD card and installed on the tablet using the built in installer app. Works with Facebook and Angry Birds (the 2 that I couldn't download from the tablet).

About 3 weeks back i got a message on my Apple Time Capsule telling me they will update the firmware, I had only one choice and that was to click ok. One hour later the device failed for the 3rd year running one week out of warranty. The last two they replaced free, now they wanted 100 Euros to repair it. I refused. 2 Days later my iMac failed, I will repair this but i have no means of restoring the machine if the disk is broken ! To top this off my Macbook Air was stolen in a Doctors waiting room last week. I am on my 3rd iPhone 4 due to theft ! I am not normally paranoid but I have therefore decided to ween myself off Apple.

After the iPhone 4, the Air was the first item to be replaced, so i chose the much reviewed Samsung series 9. It is great! The problem is the trackpad did not work, i quickly found it had no driver installed, so after hours of seraching the internet, i found one, installed it but the two finger scroll gesture (or any other gesture) does not work. You might think this is not a big deal but try it and see how difficult it is to browse. Secondly, whilst typing, a slight brush against the touchpad and you are suddenly typing text in between earlier text. I have corrected this text about 10 times in 5 minutes.

Apart from that I love everything about this machine, the problem it has however is a complete showstopper and makes it impossible to use without great frustration and difficulty, perhaps a techy could fix it but why should it be necessary to repair something straight out of the box. As much as I hate Apple, I will return this and get a Macbook Air.

UPDATE: Now have the touchpad working and all is forgiven ! This is a fantastic piece of kit, it aces the Air with the display and keyboard, I will change my rating from 1 to 4 stars, if it worked out of the box and I didnt have to pay 24 Euros for support,I would give it 5, also Windows 7 is excellent too.

I opened the box and found a nice looking device and was immediately quite pleased with my purchase, however the touchscreen was poor and kept randomly selecting settings while I was trying to set it up, therefore it was impossible to make it work the way I wanted it to. The manual is a small, badly worded book in pidgeon English and does not really explain how to set the unit up, even if the touchscreen worked.I reboxed the unit within 30 minutes of opening it and returned it to the seller, then I bought the Archos 70 250gb, which I am very pleased with.

After a slight hiccup in delivery(it sat at my local sorting office for three days)I received my gadget in less than a week from my order date.Firstly I can confirm that it does take a 32gb card.The wifi signal is excellent all around the house and I have a really old router too.It came with flash player 10 but I had no trouble in updating it to 11.1 I've downloaded lots of excellent apps including,skype,facebook,kindle,twitter,paypal,eBay.The quality of the picture on BBC iPlayer,etc is also excellent.I'm not a gamer(I'm only just the right side of 60yo)but I must say I can't stop playing rolling thunder.The build in camera,although only 0.3mp is adequate for the job.
I really have been impressed by what it can do.I've not been able to put it down since it arrived.A real bargain at the price.Just what the tablet market needed.Go on,you know you want one.

I have bought one of these for my daughter for Christmas, and having received it have ordered another for my son to prevent Christmas day envy!
It feels solidly built, the screen is fairly responsive and bright (although a little grainy compared to my HTC Desire, more like the screen on my wife's Wildfire S). It is very fast in use, again at least as fast as my Desire.

Connecting to my wifi was a breeze, with excellent range. Downloading and installing apps from Google market is easy, and everything I have installed has worked beautifully. It also comes with a nice selection of pre-installed apps, including some games, wallpaper, and an eBook reader. To early to comment on battery life.

Overall, definitely a great value tablet for the money.

Got the apad but it was faulty as the speaker u couldn't hear and the camera was like looking through frosted glass and the unfit crashed a few times in the day.
In saying all that the company did refund the full amount and my postage so I can say they are definatly a trusted company.
Hope they get better apads in stock and I will probably use them again in the future

The Apad arrived within 3 days, the wifi didn't work, It kept giving an error - "unable to start wifi" so I contacted the seller who replied quickly stating If I wasn't happy with it he would give a full refund, said he would contact the manufacturers for answers.
2 days later he replied with info from the manufacturers (which didn't work).
I did my own web-based research, and found that the USB Host controller also controls the wifi!!!
So to get you wifi working, EVERYTIME you switch the Apad on do the following:
1. settings
2. USB Host
3. activate it by ticking the check box
4. return to settings
5. network settings
6. Turn on wifi
it will now start the wifi and search for signals

Now it's working I am happy with the Apad for its money it's OK as a portable web surfer and for ebooks and as a media player (the speaker is useless, you need to plug the earphones in for any volume)
I recommend you download Aldiko for reading ebooks and K9 Mail for emails from the Android market
The downside is this Apad runs Android 1.5 which will not allow you install applications to the SD card, and the 2gb Nand flash, it will only install apps to the internal system memory which is not very big. the SD card & 2gb Internal Nand flash memory can only be used for storing Data (documents, music, ebooks & videos etc.
All in all if you want a cheap net tablet with media player abilities then it's OK.
If you want Ipad functionality then you need to spend the full money and buy the real thing.

the item I received was very poor in that the tablet appeared to be second-hand, and came in a box with no instructions, no cables and no charger. contacted the seller who assured me I had been sent the "test unit" by mistake. item was returned to seller by recorded delivery at my expense and a full refund was requested. this is when it turned sour in that the seller claimed not to have received the item back, even though I had proof of delivery showing date, time and signature of recipient. seller then went on to claim a different office had taken delivery of the return of the item and the seller could not gain entry to this office? after a protracted series of emails over a lengthy period I eventually requested the help of amazon and my bank to instigate a refund in full, which I eventually received. I have noticed that the seller is now trading on amazon under a different name, but appears to be selling the same product. Unfortunately I cannot review the item in full as the one I received would not even switch on. a bad experience that I am in no hurry to repeat
